More Than Light Fittings

The right lighting changes how the entire property feels.

A premium property can appear flat, cold or unfinished when every circuit is treated in the same way. Good lighting creates depth, highlights architecture, improves comfort and makes indoor and outdoor spaces usable throughout the evening.

We consider the building, interior finishes, artwork, furniture, views, daily routines and entertainment areas. The result is not a collection of gadgets. It is a coordinated lighting environment that works naturally.

  • Lighting layers rather than one bright general circuit
  • Warm, accurate light with suitable dimming performance
  • Clear scenes for arriving, dining, entertaining, relaxing and leaving
  • Discreet controls selected to suit the interior design
  • Professional wiring, programming, testing and handover

Simple to Use

One button should create the atmosphere—not start a technical exercise.

A well-designed scene combines several lighting zones at different levels. It can also coordinate curtains, blinds, audio, climate or cinema equipment where required. The user selects the activity; the system handles the individual circuits behind it.

Controls can be deliberately simple for guests and family members while still providing deeper adjustment through an app or touchscreen for those who need it.

  • Welcome, dinner, entertain, relax, cinema, night and away scenes
  • Central “all off” and selected security lighting
  • Timed exterior lighting and astronomical clock functions
  • Motion and occupancy control where it improves convenience
  • Controls available in premium finishes to suit the interior
Measurement & Commissioning

We assess how the light performs, not only whether it switches on.

Existing lighting problems often come from incompatible drivers, unsuitable dimmers, poor circuit design, inconsistent colour temperature or incorrect programming. We measure, inspect and test before recommending a solution.

What we can inspect and measure

The scope depends on the property and the fault, but the review can include the visible installation, control equipment, fittings, drivers, wiring access, scene programming and actual illumination within the room.

  • Light levels and distribution across important areas
  • Colour temperature consistency and visual comfort
  • Dimming range, smoothness, flicker and low-level stability
  • Load and driver compatibility with the control system
  • Circuit identification, control topology and programming
  • Failed fittings, transformers, LED drivers and interfaces
  • Exterior timing, sensors and weather-exposed equipment

Inside & Outside

One considered lighting language across the property.

Interior and exterior lighting should feel connected. The warmth, intensity and timing of each area are coordinated so the property remains coherent from the entrance and living spaces through to the terrace, garden and pool.

Behind the Finish

Professional cabling, control panels and documentation matter.

The visible keypad may be elegant and minimal, but dependable lighting requires correct infrastructure behind it. We plan circuiting, control cabling, LED driver locations, panel space, ventilation, access and labelling so the system can be commissioned and maintained properly.

On refurbishment projects, we work with the existing building wherever practical. Where access is limited, we identify realistic options before proposing unnecessary disruption.

  • Lighting and control cabling coordinated before walls and ceilings close
  • Central or distributed dimming selected for the property
  • Accessible LED drivers and interfaces rather than hidden future failures
  • Clearly labelled panels, circuits and system documentation
  • Coordination with electricians, architects, interior designers and builders
  • Programming backed up and prepared for future service
Lighting Rescue & Improvement

Existing lighting does not need to remain unreliable or difficult to use.

We are frequently asked to look at systems that were never commissioned correctly, no longer have support, have been altered by several contractors or simply do not create the atmosphere the owner expected.

The first task is to understand what is installed and what can sensibly be retained. We then separate essential repairs from optional improvements and larger upgrades.

Flickering or Buzzing

Drivers, dimmers and loads may be incompatible or incorrectly configured.

Poor Dimming

Lights jump, cut out early or refuse to dim smoothly at low levels.

Mixed Light Colour

Different lamps and fittings create an inconsistent, visually untidy result.

Too Many Switches

The property is technically controllable but impractical for normal use.

×

Failed Control Equipment

Keypads, modules, interfaces or central dimmers no longer work reliably.

No Real Atmosphere

Everything works, but the lighting is flat, harsh or badly grouped.

How We Work

Inspect. Design. Install. Commission.

The process is scaled to suit the project—from a focused diagnostic visit to a complete lighting system for a new villa.

01

Inspect & Understand

We review the property, plans, existing circuits, interior intentions, practical use and technical constraints.

02

Design & Specify

We define lighting layers, fittings, zones, scenes, controls, cabling and coordination requirements.

03

Install & Integrate

Equipment is installed, connected and integrated with automation, curtains, audio or cinema where required.

04

Commission & Refine

We test each zone, balance scenes in the actual finished property, train the client and document the system.

Paid Diagnostic Visit

Start with a Bespoke Lighting & Ambience Check.

For existing properties, faults and upgrade enquiries, the first step is a booked diagnostic visit. We inspect the accessible installation, test the relevant equipment, identify likely causes and define the practical route forward. Payment is made before the appointment. Any repair, programming, replacement or upgrade work is quoted separately.

  • Existing lighting and control-system review
  • Relevant fittings, drivers and dimmers inspected where accessible
  • Dimming, flicker, scene and control behaviour assessed
  • Lighting quality and problem areas discussed on site
  • Immediate findings and recommended next steps
  • Separate proposal for repairs, programming or upgrades
Frequently Asked Questions

Lighting and ambience questions.

Can you improve the lighting in an existing finished property?

Yes. The available options depend on the wiring, ceiling access, installed fittings and control equipment. We first inspect what is present, then identify improvements that are realistic without assuming a complete rebuild.

Do I need a full smart-home system to have intelligent lighting?

No. Lighting control can operate as a focused system or form part of a wider home-automation platform. The correct approach depends on the size of the property, the number of zones and the level of integration required.

Can you work with architects, designers, builders and electricians?

Yes. Early coordination is particularly valuable because circuiting, control cabling, driver access, keypad positions and ceiling details should be resolved before finishes are completed.

Can lighting scenes also control curtains, audio or cinema equipment?

Where the selected systems are compatible, scenes can coordinate lighting with motorised curtains or blinds, audio, climate and home-cinema functions. The integration is planned around useful activities rather than unnecessary complexity.

Can you repair older KNX, DALI, Lutron or other lighting-control systems?

We can inspect many existing control systems and determine whether repair, reprogramming, partial replacement or migration is viable. Access to the original programming files and documentation can affect the available options.

Why is the initial lighting check a paid visit?

Fault diagnosis and system assessment require professional time, travel, measurement and technical judgement. The paid visit separates the investigation from any later repair or upgrade proposal and provides a clear starting point.

Planning new lighting—or trying to make an existing system finally work properly?

Bespoke provides lighting design, installation, intelligent control, fault diagnosis and system improvements across Marbella and the Costa del Sol.
